DOG DAYS This past week has involved Elsie attending her first behaviour class with a new trainer. A couple of months ago, we booked her in to a socialisation class, which turned out not to be for us. At the start of the session, the lady who ran it gave everyone a plastic bottle full of water. There were about twelve people there with various sized dogs. We were told to walk about with our dogs, and approach other dogs, not too close, in order for them to get used to each other. If a dog showed any aggression, we had to squirt it in the face. Well, I was less than happy about doing that to another dog or them doing it to mine. As it turned out, I didn't see anyone squirting their water bottles, so I guess we were all on the same page there. We did not return for the following session.   Elsie did very well with the new trainer, but has a way to go to get over her irrational fears. Very much a work in progress.
